How to book the best vacation home experience:

When to book a Morehead City rental home & When to go:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Morehead City attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the right Morehead City vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Third floor with one of the best views of the ocean at Pier Pointe has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City destination you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
