How to find the best Morehead City vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best vacation rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. The Cozy Bear Bungalow has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
