Tips for getting the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beachy Haven
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
