Rental home tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Surf Capsule suite - coastal retreat in iconic Atlantic Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
