Our top Beaufort vacation rental home tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sunsets and Siestas in Beaufort, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
