How to get the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Spectacular Views! OCEANFRONT 8 BR, 4 BA Duplex has 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
