Our top Rental home booking tips:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental home & When to go:

  • To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book a perfect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. SOUNDSIDE HOME IN EMERALD ISLE!! A short walk to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
