Beaufort vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ann St Cottage In The Heart Of Historic Beaufort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City beach you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
