Tips for getting the perfect Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your Morehead City rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the best Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Serene beach house facing Bogue Sound & only a 10 minute walk to ocean beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your family.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City destination you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
