Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Morehead City area:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Top Floor; Top Shelf! Views of Sound & Sea! Fully renovated luxe condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, call the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
