Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • To get the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Morehead City attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the best vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Sea Spray 201 - Walk to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City beach you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
