How to find the best rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Morehead City attractions and restaurants.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation rental:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Rita’s Rejuvenating Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
