Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Morehead City area. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Morehead City rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Rita’s Rejuvenating Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
