Strategies to get the optimal Morehead City rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. Reserve your Morehead City vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Finding the best rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Pet-Friendly Suites with a small fee, short walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
