Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern rental home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book your Morehead City rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Our Getaway Two has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
