Tricks and tips to get the perfect Morehead City rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer is high season in New Bern. Book your Morehead City rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. PEACE AND QUIET.. residential has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City beach you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
