Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:

When to book a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in New Bern. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose and book your Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Bearplex of New Bern featuring king-size bed has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
