Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront high rise condo, centrally located in Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
