Getting the best Morehead City rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Condo Hot Tub Indoor\/Outdoor Pool and PuttPutt has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
