Booking the best rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Morehead City rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Booking your Morehead City vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Ocean front Sands Villa, boat parking, indoor + outdoor pools has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Have a great stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
