Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Morehead City vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

  • Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • 5 mins to DT
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
