How to book the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 3 BR, 2 Bath home in Emerald Isle! Golf cart, beach chairs & Shibumi included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
