Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in New Bern. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best rental home in New Bern:

  • Start by having your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 4 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
