Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Morehead City vacation property experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Morehead City vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First, have your family choose trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Why Knot Getaway...Rooftop with WaterView! Unit D has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
