Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Morehead City vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. To find the best value, try changing your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 3 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
