Getting the best Morehead City rental home experience:

When to visit New Bern & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning and choosing the perfectrental home:

  • First, have your family select date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 2 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
