Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Family Beach Vacation\n has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
