Beaufort vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Cozy waterfront bamboo retreat, perfect for fishermen or outdoor enthusiasts has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
