Our top Morehead City vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. To find the best value, change your family's Morehead City vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Completely Renovated, Oceanfront Condo with WiFi, HDTVs & Shared Pools\/Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
