Morehead City vacation rental booking tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking your Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Captain's Choice: 5 BR, 5.5 BA House in Atlantic Beach, Sleeps 12 has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
