Morehead City vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Get the best value:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the rightrental home:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Book your Beach Get-a-Way at family friendly Beach Loving! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
