The Pelican’s Post is a cavernous 4-Bedroom, 4-Bath duplex located on a high lot with handsome vistas of the ocean from all levels. Located just across the street from the beach access on a rather cul-de-sac. Just mins. away from Emerald Isle where visitors can shop, catch a movie, play miniature golf, ride a go cart and more. Within a 5 min. drive to eateries, bars and ice cream stores. The Bogue Inlet Pier is a short walk down the beach where you can fish, get lunch or watch the waves. Bicycle units, Jet Ski units and Kayaks are a 5 min. drive on the sound side of the island.

GROUND LEVEL: Movie/Rec Room-Enormous Intelligent TV with sectional and tons of games, puzzles, and cards. There is also a full bathroom.

MIDDLE LEVEL: Master bedroom has a King Bed and on-suite, Bedroom 2 has 2 Twin Beds, Bedroom 3 has a Queen Bed and there is a full bathroom as well. Oceanview deck access from the master bedroom.

TOP LEVEL: Bedroom 4 has a Queen Bed and attached full bathroom, Generous open living room with a queen sleeper couch, kitchen and dining room.

Finding your best deal:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.

  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
