Beaufort vacation rental home tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. NEW 4BD 4.5BA Home W\/ Incredible Beaufort Bridge Views, on Town Creek Marina has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
