Tips to get the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, shift your family's Morehead City vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful Bogue Shores 1st Floor Studio with Beach & Sound Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
