Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
