Our top Morehead City rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 107 W Bogue Blvd Unit 3 Sleeps 7-2 BR-3 Levels-Overlooks Pool-steps from Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
