Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Morehead City area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose your prefect Morehead City rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Wee Blew Inn West, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
