Tips to get the perfect Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Booking your Morehead City vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking your Morehead City rental home:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Walk to beaches from 2nd floor 2 bed 2 bath apt has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
