Tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation rental in Beaufort:

  • First, have your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sweet Caroline coastal home Beaufort, NC 28516 in Beau Coast Comm master on main has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
