This is a place to spend your days sipping coffee on the front porch swing, strolling downtown, and calming at sunset in the cavernous and enclosed yard. Constructed in 1945, the home is bright and inviting, offering generous windows, hand-painted coastal-themed artwork, and thoughtful updates throughout. Highlights include a polished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a formal dining room, and a living room where you can curl up with a good movie or a book from the shelves. After a day at the beach, come home to toss your swimsuits in the washer/dryer, relax in central air conditioning, or linger outside on the porch with appetizers and cold drinks.

How to get the best vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the best Morehead City vacation home:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Dog-friendly cottage across from the water in a walkable neighborhood has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
