Our top Rental property booking tips:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Morehead City area. To find the best value, shift your family's Morehead City vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pennies From Heaven, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
