Tips for getting the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer time is high season in the Morehead City area. Reserve your Morehead City vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Condo in Atlantic Beach, Hungerford's Haven has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
