Tips to get the optimal Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Hear and See the Sound of the Sea has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
