How to book the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fantastic soundfront home with Inground Pool!! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
