Tricks and tips to get the optimal Morehead City vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Dancing Barefoot- Cozy Beach Getaway- 4th Row House with Ocean View has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
