Our top Beaufort rental home booking tips:

Find your perfect rental:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Morehead City area. To get the best value, change your family's Morehead City vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
