Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking your Morehead City rental home:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 4BR Home at the Point! 2nd Row from beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
