Finding the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Morehead City rental home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the best rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A Place at the Beach III Family Resort. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
