2nd Row Duplex

Welcome to Sunset Dream East - This bright, handsome, clean home has expansive ocean vistas from the main living area. This home has a reverse floor plan with the living room, completely equipped kitchen, one bedroom with a queen bed, and full bathroom on the top (3rd) floor. The bright living room has generous vistas, plenty of seating, a 42" flat screen T.V. complete with cable, a blue-ray dvd player, and stereo. The kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. There are a wide variety of cooking silverware, modest appliances, spices, and cookware.

The second floor has 3 additional bedrooms. The master bedroom is ocean-side and has a king bed along with an en suite bathroom (including a double vanity, jetted tub, and walk-in shower), and two closets. This bedroom also has a sliding glass door which opens to a second deck. The second and third bedrooms are on this floor as well. The second bedroom has one queen bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. In addition, there is a second full bathroom on this floor.

Our home has high-speed internet and each bedroom has a flat screen TV, cable, and a dvd player. Each bedroom also has a ceiling fan.

The public beach access is conveniently located right across the street. There are beach chairs, body boards and sand toys available for your use. There is also an enclosed outdoor hot/cold shower.

Located roughly 3 miles from town, our home is convenient to eateries, stores, and Bogue Inlet Pier.

Linens are supplied with your stay. Absolutely no smoking or illegal drug use anywhere on the property.

Up to 2 dogs allowed. Animals must be kept of all furnishings and linens.

Insurance liability restricts the following breeds of dog: German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Wolf hybrids & other aggressive breeds.
Sorry, stringently NO CATS. We have severe allergy to cats.

About the Area

Located in Emerald Isle, this vacation home is near the beach. Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier and Emerald Forest Golf are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those in the mood for shopping can visit Emerald Plantation and Beach Wheels Bike Rental. Flatwaters Paddling and Emerald Isle Adventures are also worth visiting. With kayaking, motor boating, and surfing/body boarding nearby, you'll find plenty of adventures in the water.

Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. 2nd row, beautiful views, quiet, wide uncrowded beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
