Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book your prefect Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront on Highly Sought After Ocean Ridge has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
